Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Deut. 31:6
There is something compelling and enticing about facing life head-on, taking hold of challenges and visualizing success. We grow up learning of highly successful people who refused to say no; who never used the word “quit” and applied hard work and sacrifice to gain the rewards awaiting them.
However, hard work and sacrifice can also leave us exhausted and frustrated. For every million dollar success story are hundreds, no thousands of failures. Life without purpose, without the personal relationship of Jesus Christ, is, ultimately, fruitless, and empty.
Choosing to walk with Christ opens eternal doorways that never close. Faith in the Lord also enacts a powerful, supernatural protection that cannot be weakened or tarnished by our failures. As a matter of fact, He died to assure our protection.
2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
John 17:11, 15 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
Jude 1 To those who have been called, who are loved by God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ: 2Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.
Jude 24, 25 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 56:3-4 When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?
Psalm 73:24 You guide me with Your counsel, and afterwards You will take me up in glory.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he will make your paths straight.
Isaiah 40:28-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings of eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
God clearly promises protection and assurance to all who trust and believe in Him. There is only one thing that can stand in the way of His promises…our lack of faith. We have only to believe His promises and not faint. When all seems bleak, dark and hopeless, let us rise above what we see and believe in His words of hope, protection and eternal salvation.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
