Am I willing to be a saint? The Biblical term is applied to those who have separated themselves from the world. Saints are those who are denying their lower-fleshly instincts in the pursuit of a higher spiritual purity and calling in Christ.
The supreme noteworthy truth about sainthood is that we are called by God to be saints. From the book of Isaiah through the Revelation of John, Scripture has about fifty references to our being saints. That is the identity to which we each are called—not “saints” in the highly prescribed doctrine of a particular church or denomination, but saints as the early disciples considered themselves to be. Saints are those whose sins have been forgiven and who are daily surrendering their lives to the unfolding will of God.
